Case Study on Persistent Erectile Dysfunction February 29, 1996
At the end of the Year of the Pig, a resident of Lanzhou named Zhu suffered from this condition, with no success from any doctor. After consultations between the main hospital and Hospital 301 via telephone, local measures such as bloodletting and anesthesia were attempted, but none proved effective. I believe that many of these local treatments are merely stimulatory in nature; persistent erectile dysfunction is not caused by blockage of a single blood vessel in the local area, but rather by central nervous system dysfunction and autonomic nervous system imbalance. I therefore combined Xiao Chai Hu Tang with Long Gu, Mu Li, Gui Zhi Fu Ling Wan, and Dang Chuan He Ji, adding water leeches and ethinylestradiol, and after ten doses, significant improvement was observed. Subsequently, sweating occurred, and I added Dang Gui Liu Huang Tang, resulting in cessation of sweating after five doses.
