Persistent High Fever in Children June 6, 1996
In the early summer of the Year of the Pig, my nephew Zhang Quan's child developed a fever after a ten-day upper respiratory infection, with no effect from daily intravenous antibiotic administration. I asked what the problem was: night fever, morning coolness, bone-steaming without sweat. I prescribed Qing Hao Bie Jia Tang combined with Ma Huang Tang, and after two doses, the fever subsided, leading to recovery.
