When hypertension occurs, intestinal peristalsis weakens, leading to constipation, abdominal distension, and abdominal pain; in severe cases, paralytic ileus may develop. Under these circumstances, gallbladder contraction weakens, bile duct opening tension increases, and over time, this can lead to cholecystitis combined with cholelithiasis. Additionally, hypertensive patients tend to accumulate lipids and experience increased blood viscosity, which facilitates the formation of gallstones. The irritation and obstruction caused by gallstones further promote inflammation.
