Summary of Hypertension Treatment January 5, 1997

Based on my 30 years of experience in treating hypertension, I have previously used Qiju Dihuang Wan, Jianling Tang, Zhen Gan Xi Feng Tang, Xiang Ku Cao, Sang Ji Sheng, Huang Qin, Gou Teng, Ma Dou Ling, Gou Teng Lai Fu Jiang Ya Ling, Hong Niu Xia Hai Tang, and other formulas. Approximately 80% of hypertensive patients treated with these prescriptions according to syndrome differentiation have shown improvement. Later, I introduced Shi Dong Feng Ju Er Chen Shen, and further enhanced the efficacy by adding Gou Teng, Liu Wei Yi Huang Gou, Si Wu Er Huang Gou, and Huang Lian Jie Du Tang, which represented another step forward. Subsequently, I employed Wu Jia Sang Tong Su Bin Gui, as well as Zhi Shi Dai Chen Er Chen Sui. Among these formulas, Guan II has proven particularly effective for some patients experiencing precordial pain.
