Soft Tissue Sarcoma, September 2, 1997

Soft tissue sarcoma is a primary malignant tumor of soft tissues, characterized by insensitivity to chemotherapy. Common types include rhabdomyosarcoma, leiomyosarcoma, fibrosarcoma, and liposarcoma, which can metastasize. Surgical treatment is the main method, often combined with preoperative or palliative radiotherapy. There is a traditional Chinese medicine formula: lithospermum, honeysuckle, bone-penetrating herb, tendon-stretching herb, codonopsis, white atractylodes, astragalus, and achyranthes. Mnemonic: “Purple, Silver, Penetrating Herb, Codonopsis, Atractylodes, Astragalus, Achyranthes,” plus one or two additional achyranthes.
