Cardiac Auscultation Areas, August 7, 1998

The auscultation area for the aortic valve is located at the right second intercostal space of the manubrium sterni, while the second auscultation area for the aortic valve is at the left second to third intercostal spaces. The pulmonary valve auscultation area is at the left side of the manubrium sterni, second intercostal space. Although this is a simple matter, it is often forgotten, so this note is made to prevent future confusion.
