Acute Mesenteric Lymphadenitis in Children 1999.1.18
Typically, children aged 4–12 who suffer from pulmonary infection or infection of the mesentery itself may develop this condition. The clinical symptom is abdominal pain; in some cases, doctors can palpate enlarged intra-abdominal lymph nodes during abdominal examination, but in most patients, palpation is negative. Recently, Ma Duolan and Wang Xuemei from Weihai Hospital in Shandong Province have used ultrasound to diagnose this condition, finding it relatively common in clinical practice.
