Q: In October this year, I experienced severe gallbladder and stomach pain and was hospitalized at LinTao County People’s Hospital and Lanzhou University Second Hospital. Examinations revealed a small cyst in the right lobe of the liver and erosion in the gastric antrum. After receiving traditional Chinese medicine treatment, the effect was unsatisfactory. I still experience pain in the right flank and stomach. How should I be treated?

A: A small portion of cholecystitis may not be visible on ultrasound. Based on the location of your pain, cholecystitis cannot be ruled out. Of course, the gastric lesions are confirmed. When both conditions coexist, the pain symptoms tend to be more pronounced. If the diagnosis remains unclear, the treatment outcome will not be ideal.
