6. Post-90s—No Easy Crying

Male, 22 years old, caught a cold during chemotherapy and has not fully recovered yet. One morning, he had dry stools with blood. Yesterday, he didn't go to the bathroom because of pain. Today, when he finally went, his anus was torn again, and his stool was slightly dry. Does he need to take any medication?

Answer: Chemotherapy patients may experience a series of toxic side effects due to weakened immune function and autonomic nervous system dysfunction. The cold symptoms, black stools, and dry stools you mentioned all fall into this category. Black stools may be caused by upper gastrointestinal bleeding. If the anal bleeding is bright red, it could be an anal fissure, which is not serious. After each bowel movement, you can clean the area with a 1% potassium permanganate solution to prevent infection. To alleviate the toxic side effects of chemotherapy, my Pei's Hematopoietic Granules, when used in conjunction with radiotherapy and chemotherapy, usually show excellent clinical efficacy.
