Q: My mother underwent left mastectomy for breast cancer last year. More than a year has passed since the surgery, but she still feels pain at the incision site and has been taking anti-cancer drugs continuously. Starting in September this year, she has also experienced intermittent stomach pain. What are some good ways to treat this?
A: Anti-cancer drugs shouldn’t be taken long-term. It seems you’re using endocrine medications (such as tamoxifen, toremifene, letrozole, etc.). The pain at the incision site may not necessarily be a recurrence of cancer.
