8. Nianxi’s Little Thoughts
Question: My mom went to the hospital for a B-ultrasound and was found to have ovarian cysts. She has been taking medication for a while, but with little effect. I wonder whether the medication is wrong or if surgery would be better. Is surgery unavoidable? Can cervical hypertrophy be treated?
Answer: It’s best to avoid surgery. Traditional Chinese medicine works very well for ovarian cysts, shrinking large cysts and even eliminating some completely—so long as there are no symptoms, leave them alone. As for cervical hypertrophy, it indicates chronic cervical inflammation; if asymptomatic, it can also be left untreated.
