Q: A family member suffered a head injury and took Xuefu Zhuyu Wan orally, along with many other TCM herbs, but the effect was minimal. He still experiences headaches, dizziness, and sometimes pain behind the eyeballs. Are there any other treatment options? Can this be cured?
A: If the head injury did not result in prolonged coma, it can be diagnosed as a concussion. For post-concussion sequelae, Xuefu Zhuyu Tang is the preferred formula. You’ve likely taken Xuefu Zhuyu Wan correctly; if it hasn’t worked, try doubling the dosage. If doubling the dose still doesn’t help, consult an experienced TCM physician for syndrome differentiation and tailored treatment.
