Q: I have a relative, 37 years old, with advanced lung cancer and metastasis to the right lung. How should this be treated?
A: Advanced lung cancer can only be managed conservatively. Metastasis to bones, brain, and liver is a hallmark of advanced lung cancer. If surgery is no longer an option, conservative treatment should be adopted. Radiation and chemotherapy have limited efficacy, so TCM treatment or biological therapy should be prioritized. Targeted drug therapy, such as gefitinib and bevacizumab, still has uncertain efficacy.
