15. Yao Yao: Atrophic Gastritis with Erosion and Hyperplasia
Question: A friend of mine has been diagnosed with atrophic gastritis accompanied by erosion and hyperplasia. How should this be treated? Is it possible to combine traditional Chinese and Western medicine?
Answer: Actually, this condition does not necessarily require a combination of TCM and Western medicine. Treatment with TCM alone can be highly effective. If the hyperplasia is atypical, it is considered a chronic precancerous lesion and should be treated immediately.
