Q: I’ve heard that stewing purple placenta with lean pork can treat bronchitis in children. Is this true? Can a two-and-a-half-year-old child take it?
A: Purple placenta contains certain female hormones and can be somewhat effective in treating women’s neurosis. It’s also used in treating anemia and blood disorders, but there’s no reported evidence that it treats asthma in children.
