Bile Reflux Gastritis
Q: 25 years old, suffering from bile reflux combined with gastric ptosis. I constantly experience upward movement of stomach qi, as if trapped air cannot be expelled, along with chest and diaphragm discomfort on both sides, distension and pain in the flanks, and frequent belching that is hard to release, though relief comes after belching. What should I do?
A: You appear to have bile reflux gastritis. Patients like you often have underlying chronic biliary or pancreatic diseases. It is precisely because of these conditions that bile reflux occurs, leading to damage to the gastric mucosa. It would be advisable to undergo an ultrasound examination to check for cholecystitis; mild pancreatic inflammation may not be visible on ultrasound.
