Helicobacter pylori Infection (Children)
Question: My daughter has been treated with triple therapy for a period of time without success. The local doctor recommends stopping the treatment because the side effects are too severe for such a young child, but my daughter is in obvious pain. What is the most appropriate way to handle this?
Answer: For children, I agree that triple therapy should be temporarily avoided, as it can disrupt the child’s gastrointestinal microbiota and leave long-term sequelae. Based on my experience, TCM herbal treatment is a better option. Ancient prescriptions such as Banxia Xiexin Tang, Huanglian Tang, and Xiaochaihu Tang can effectively suppress Helicobacter pylori infection.
