Question: Female, 30 years old. Due to excessive vaginal discharge, I went to the hospital and was diagnosed with Mycoplasma infection. The doctor prescribed anti-inflammatory drugs and topical medication, but there was no improvement. Are there any effective TCM remedies?
Answer: Mycoplasma and Chlamydia infections are notoriously difficult to treat because they are primarily sexually transmitted and are now classified as sexually transmitted diseases. These pathogens are generally insensitive to most antibiotics and prone to developing resistance. Tetracyclines and macrolides are relatively sensitive, but in recent years, resistance has become increasingly apparent. TCM is effective, but requires long-term treatment and syndrome differentiation.
