Question: Female, 30 years old: Due to excessive vaginal discharge, I went to the hospital and was diagnosed with mycoplasma infection. The doctor prescribed some anti-inflammatory drugs and topical medications, but there’s been no improvement. Are there any effective TCM treatments?
Answer: Mycoplasma and chlamydia infections are notoriously difficult to treat because they’re often sexually transmitted and classified as sexually transmitted diseases. These pathogens are resistant to most antibiotics and easily develop drug resistance. Tetracyclines and macrolides are relatively sensitive, but in recent years, resistance has become increasingly pronounced. TCM is effective, but requires long-term treatment and pattern-based diagnosis and treatment.
