Question: My sister is six months pregnant. Today, a hospital examination revealed that the fetal right kidney measures 42 mm × 28 mm, with increased volume, full shape, and unclear cortical echogenicity. Multiple anechoic areas are visible inside, the largest being 14 mm × 13 mm, while the left kidney measures 23 mm × 18 mm. Diagnosis: Increased volume of the fetal right kidney with multiple anechoic areas. Possible renal cystic dysplasia on the right side; induction of labor is recommended. Should we induce labor?

Answer: If you’re an older primipara, abortion is not advisable, as the fetus is still in the womb.
