The following three formulas are commonly used: ① Huangshan Compound Formula: Astragalus 20g, Chinese Yam 10g, Epimedium 10g, Cinnamon 3g, Dried Tuckahoe 10g, Schisandra 3g, Herba Codonopsis 10g, Morinda Root 10g, Eucommia Bark 15g, Deer Antler Gelatin 10g (dissolved), Goji Berries 10g, Angelica Sinensis 10g, Cistanche Deserticola 10g, Dang Gui 10g, Rehmannia Root 10g, and Lycium Barbarum 10g, decocted in water and taken once daily. This formula primarily focuses on replenishing both Qi and Blood through the use of Dang Gui and Astragalus. While removing Zhi and Bai in the Er Xian Decoction, it is combined with herbs like Wu, Po, Shan, Gu, and Zhu, which help to gather and conserve essence. Deer Antler Gelatin is a powerful remedy for strengthening yang and filling essence; when combined, it enhances both essence and blood, allowing yang energy to be fully mobilized and thus enabling erections! This formula is suitable for elderly patients with deficiency in Qi, Blood, Yin, and Yang. ② Er Xian Compound Formula: Herba Codonopsis 10g, Epimedium 10g, Deer Antler Gelatin 10g, Salvia Miltiorrhiza 10g, Cistanche Deserticola 10g, Rehmannia Root 12g, Chinese Hawthorn 10g, Chinese Yam 10g, Cortex Phellodendri 12g, Poria 10g, Alisma 10g, Yangqi Stone 20g, Herba Codonopsis 10g, Leeches 10g (mixed and administered separately), Deer Antler 3g (mixed and administered separately), Cistanche Deserticola 10g, Ligustrum Lucidum 10g, Goji Berries 10g, Schisandra 10g, and Senna Seed 10g, decocted in water and taken once daily. This formula is based on the Liu Wei Tang formula, incorporating potent herbs for strengthening yang and enhancing sexual function, while using fewer tonifying herbs compared to the previous formula, making it more suitable for young patients with relatively strong constitutions. ③ Gui Jia Wei Tang Formula: Rehmannia Root 12g, Chinese Hawthorn 6g, Chinese Yam 10g, Cortex Phellodendri 10g, Poria 10g, Alisma 10g, Cinnamon Twig 10g, Dried Ginger 10g, Codonopsis 10g, Astragalus 20g, Leeches 10g (divided and administered separately), Deer Antler 3g (divided and administered separately), Cistanche Deserticola 10g, Peasants’ Bean 10g, and Goji Berries 10g, decocted in water and taken once daily. This formula uses Gui Fu Ba Wei Wan as its main ingredient, combined with Bao Yuan and Wu Zi, focusing on strengthening yang and improving sexual function, making it suitable for patients newly diagnosed with erectile dysfunction.
