V. Qigong Treatment

According to modern research, qigong therapy can calm the mind. Mental calmness can produce protective inhibition, prompting adjustments and recovery of various bodily systems. Abdominal breathing strengthens diaphragmatic and abdominal muscle contraction, increases abdominal pressure, enhances gastrointestinal peristalsis, aids secretion of digestive juices, accelerates gastric emptying and digestion and absorption of food. Repeated breathing exercises can lead to developed abdominal muscles, fat accumulation in the omentum, and tightened stomach muscles, allowing ptotic internal organs to recover and heal; therefore, internal cultivation qigong is considered highly effective for gastric ptosis. Specific practice methods can vary from person to person—choose a technique that suits you. The author believes that Mr. Li Shaobo from Gansu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine’s “True Qi Circulation Method” is simple and easy to master, patients might as well learn it.
