Herbs are finely ground and mixed with excipients or binders to form solid preparations of a specific size and shape. These can be used externally or internally. Externally, they can be inserted into affected areas to draw out necrotic tissue or stimulate new tissue growth, or crushed and applied as juice to the affected area; internally, they can be dissolved in water or crushed into juice for consumption. External tablets like Ku Zhi Tablets, while internally, they can be used as Zijin Tablets or Zhi Bao Tablets.
