1 Experimental Materials

1.1 Experimental Animals

90 BALB/C mice, half male and half female, aged 8–10 weeks, weighing 20 ± 2 g. 10 DBA/2 mice, half male and half female, 8 weeks old. All were purchased from the Gansu Provincial Academy of Medical Sciences. Animal qualification certificate number: Medical Animal No. 14-009.

1.2 Drugs and Administration Methods

Pei’s Blood-Boosting Granules: Provided by Gansu Provincial Cancer Hospital, each package contains 36.25 g of crude herbs (Rehmannia root, Cornus fruit, Chinese yam, Ginseng roots, Codonopsis pilosula, Pseudostellaria heterophylla, Glehnia root, Cinnamon twig, Floating wheat, Jujube, etc.). The prepared granules are fully dissolved in distilled water before use. Each group receives 1 ml of blood-boosting granule solution via gastric gavage at high dose (0.02 g/g·d), medium dose (0.01 g/g·d), and low dose (0.005 g/g·d), corresponding to human-to-animal body size coefficient conversions (equivalent to 40, 20, and 10 times the adult clinical dosage). All groups are fed regular chow and receive continuous gavage for 40 days.

Zhenqi Fuzheng Powder: Purchased from a pharmacy, prepared with distilled water upon use. The Zhenqi group receives 1 ml of powder per mouse at 0.01 g/g·d (equivalent to 20 times the adult clinical dosage), while the model group receives an equal volume of distilled water via gavage. All groups are fed regular chow and receive continuous gavage for 40 days.
