Section Index
2.1.2 Chronic Type
Onset and progression are relatively slow, and the condition is milder than the acute type.
2.1.2.1 Anemia
It follows a chronic course, with anemia often being the initial and primary manifestation. Common symptoms include pallor, fatigue, dizziness, palpitations, and shortness of breath after activity. Symptoms may improve after blood transfusion, but the effect does not last long.
2.1.2.2 Infection
High fever is less common than in the acute type; respiratory tract infections are more frequent, with fewer severe complications, making them relatively easier to control.
2.1.2.3 Bleeding
Bleeding tendency is milder, mainly affecting skin and mucous membranes. Except for uterine bleeding in women, visceral bleeding is rare. In advanced patients who have been treated unsuccessfully for a long time, cerebral hemorrhage may occur, presenting with severe headache and vomiting.
