1 Conclusion
This experiment measured the effects of Pei's Shengxue Granules on P27 protein expression and cell apoptosis, as well as their antagonistic and synergistic effects on the toxic side effects caused by 5-Fu. The results are as follows:
1.1 Pei's Shengxue Granules have an inhibitory effect on tumor growth, with the anti-tumor effect increasing as the dose of Pei's Shengxue Granules rises. The high- and medium-dose combinations with 5-Fu exhibit a synergistic effect, significantly increasing the tumor suppression rate to 62.66% and 59.30%, respectively.
1.2 Pei's Shengxue Granules have a certain antagonistic effect on the suppression of immune organs—the thymus and spleen—caused by 5-Fu, able to maintain the body's immune function and resist damage from external stimuli by increasing the weight of the thymus and spleen, with the antagonistic effect strengthening as the dose of Pei's Shengxue Granules increases.
1.3 Pei's Shengxue Granules can influence the cell cycle by upregulating P27 protein expression, blocking the progression of tumor cells from the G1 phase to the S phase, causing a large accumulation of G1-phase tumor cells; DNA synthesis and replication in the S phase are inhibited and blocked, the S-phase ratio decreases, and the cells' proliferative capacity declines, thereby inhibiting tumor cell proliferation and exerting an anti-tumor effect.
1.4 Pei's Shengxue Granules can increase the apoptosis rate of tumor cells, promoting or inducing tumor cell apoptosis.
In summary, the tumor-suppressing effect of Pei's Shengxue Granules in tumor-bearing bodies is achieved by regulating the abnormal immune suppression state of the host, upregulating P27 protein expression, and inducing tumor cell apoptosis, while also having a clear synergistic and detoxifying effect on tumor-bearing mice undergoing 5-Fu chemotherapy.
