2.2 Animal Grouping, Dosage, and Administration Method

Divide the 72 SPF-grade Kunming mice randomly by weight and gender into 12 as the normal group, and the remaining 60 mice, 24 hours after inoculation, are randomly divided into the model control group; the Pei’s Soft Liver and Anti-Flatulence Pill low-dose group (PRGXP low-dose group); the Pei’s Soft Liver and Anti-Flatulence Pill medium-dose group (PRGXP medium-dose group); the Pei’s Soft Liver and Anti-Flatulence Pill high-dose group (PRGXP high-dose group); and the Compound Cantharidin Capsules group (Cantharidin group). The specific dosages are as follows:

Cantharidin Group: Based on an adult weight of 60 kg, 0.25 g/capsule, 2 capsules/time, 3 times/day. The dosage for mice is equivalent to 10 times the adult dosage, i.e., 0.25 g/kg body weight.

PRGXP Group: Based on an adult weight of 60 kg, 6 g/bag, 1 bag/time, 2 times/day. The oral administration dosage for mice:

  • PRGXP low-dose group: 1 g/kg body weight (equivalent to 5 times the adult clinical dosage)
  • PRGXP medium-dose group: 2 g/kg body weight (equivalent to 10 times the adult clinical dosage)
  • PRGXP high-dose group: 4 g/kg body weight (equivalent to 20 times the adult clinical dosage)

The volume of oral administration for mice: 0.2 ml/10 g.

Pei’s Soft Liver and Anti-Flatulence Pill and Compound Cantharidin Capsules are each dissolved in distilled water immediately before use to form a suspension. The experimental group mice receive an equal volume of the drug via oral gavage, while the normal group and model control group mice receive an equal volume of distilled water, once daily, for 10 consecutive days.
