As early as 1954, the Cangzhou Special District Hospital used the Si Miao Yong An Tang to treat thromboangiitis obliterans, which did have some effect, but the therapeutic outcome was never entirely satisfactory. In recent years, various regions have gradually adopted Tong Mai Ling, Mao Dong Qing, Dang Gui, Yi Mu Cao, San Leng, E Zhu, and Dan Shen to treat this disease, achieving significant therapeutic effects and greatly reducing the amputation rate. The Xuanwu Hospital in Beijing used blood-activating and stasis-removing therapy to treat 606 cases of thrombotic phlebitis, obtaining satisfactory results. Similarly, Shanghai used Gui Zhi Fu Ling Wan, and Sichuan used Shan Hai Tang to treat this condition, both yielding good therapeutic outcomes.
