2. Rehmannia-Ophiopogon Drink (from “Medical Orthodoxy”)
Indications: Nosebleeds, earbleeds.
Take five qian each of Rehmannia and Ophiopogon japonicus, boil two cups of water down to eight-tenths, drink after meals. Functions: cools blood and clears lungs. This formula originally appeared in “Collection of Life-Saving Principles for Disease Mechanisms in the Plain Questions,” used to treat persistent nosebleeds; later books such as “Gathering of Good Friends” also recorded this formula, but no specific name was given.
