2. Pubic Lice
Patient Sun, female, 27 years old. After swimming, she felt unbearable itching in the genital area and tried applying 10% sulfur ointment externally without success, so she came to Teacher Pei for treatment. Physical examination revealed white lice eggs the size of a pinhead attached to the pubic hair, with punctate pubic lice embedded in the skin around the hair roots, impossible to remove by touch, and surrounding skin eroded with eczema-like changes. Western medical diagnosis: pubic lice. Teacher Pei adopted a treatment method of clearing heat, removing dampness, and killing parasites, prescribing: snakeberry 30 g, sophora 20 g, alum 10 g, phellodendron 10 g, aristolochia 10 g, lepidium 15 g. He instructed the patient to shave off the pubic hair first, then decoct the above herbs in water for external washing, and change underwear frequently. After ten days of treatment, she was cured.
Note: Pubic lice are caused by lice parasitizing the human genital area, often transmitted through sexual contact or unhygienic bathing and swimming. In recent years, the incidence of such diseases has increased. Teacher Pei's use of traditional Chinese medicine to clear heat and remove dampness combined with insecticidal drugs has proven effective.
