Huoxue Huayu Tang for Treating Atrophic Gastritis, June 30, 1986
Huoxue Huayu Tang composition: Astragalus 20 g, Angelica 15 g, Chuanxiong 15 g, Zhike 15 g, Galangal 10 g, Frankincense 10 g, Myrrh 10 g, Honey-roasted Licorice 10 g.
Additions and subtractions: For severe pain, add Yanhusuo 15 g; for severe bloating, add Houpu 10 g and Qingpi 10 g; for indigestion, add Jiaosanxian.
The characteristic of this formula is that it combines a blood-tonifying decoction with blood-circulating and stasis-resolving herbs such as Chuanxiong, Frankincense, and Myrrh, plus Galangal and Zhike.
Mnemonic: “Wudi Huangliang Zhicao Xiang.”
