Another Discovery in the Treatment of Aplastic Anemia, October 2, 1989

During the transition from summer to autumn in the Ji-Si year, I treated a child with aplastic anemia—the son of Chief Qiao from the TianShui Secondary Station. The patient had a hemoglobin level of 40g/L and a severe condition. I prescribed dang shen 15g, baishu 10g, fuling 12g, banxia 6g, chenpi 6g, muxiang 3g, caodoukou 3g, tusizi 20g, nüzhenzi 15g, gouqi zi 10g, he shou wu 20g, mo han lian 15g, rou cong rong 15g, sheng di 12g, xianhe cao 20g, and qian cao 10g. After taking this formula for more than 20 doses, remarkable improvement was observed.

Because the patient experienced epigastric pain and discomfort, the pain lessened after taking the above formula. I then adjusted the prescription to include dang shen 15g, baishu 10g, huang qi 20g, danggui 10g, fuling 12g, yuan zhi 6g, fried suanzao ren 10g, longyan rou 15g, gancao 6g, muxiang 3g, caodoukou 3g, tusizi 20g, nüzhenzi 15g, gouqi zi 10g, he shou wu 20g, mo han lian 15g, sheng di 12g, rou cong rong 10g, xianhe cao 20g, and qian cao 6g. After more than 40 doses, the hemoglobin level rose to 110g/L, and the patient returned to good health.
