Hyperkalemia on August 28, 1995
①Transfusion of stored blood or excessive potassium supplementation. ②Renal failure or adrenal insufficiency. ③Chemotherapy or hemolysis (due to hypoxia, acidosis, shock, trauma, or toxic reactions). ④Dehydration and blood concentration.
Clinical manifestations are similar: drowsiness, limb numbness, sensory abnormalities, and absent deep reflexes. ECG shows tall, peaked T waves, absent P waves, and widened QRS complexes.
