Experience in Treating Stubborn Limb Paralysis May 29, 1996
In the summer of the Year of the Pig, I treated a woman who had suffered from stubborn limb paralysis for two years, with no success from any doctor. She complained of irritability, insomnia, chest tightness, and low blood pressure. I prescribed Dang Gui, Chuan Xiong, Chi Shao, Sheng Di Huang, Fuling, Chen Pi, Yuan Zhi, Xue Jie, Ze Lan, She Chuang Zi, Tu Si Zi, Black Soybeans, Sang Zhi, Xi Xing Cao, and Wei Ling Xian—seven doses in total—which proved effective. Mnemonic: "Four Substances Over Chen Pi Yuan, Stubborn Paralysis Blood Lan Bed."
