Case of Ovarian Cancer with Ascites and Fever, October 2, 1998
An elderly female patient with ovarian cancer complicated by ascites saw improvement in all symptoms after chemotherapy, but on the last day she developed a fever, with obvious rebound tenderness in the abdomen and persistent high fever. Despite large doses of antibiotics, the fever persisted for three days. After administering Zhuye Shigao Tang combined with Zengye Chengqi Tang, the patient had two bowel movements and the fever slightly subsided. Subsequently, Guizhi Fuling Tang was combined with Qinghao Biejia San and Zhuye Shigao Tang, and after five doses, the fever finally subsided and the patient recovered.
