Brief Notes on Aplastic Anemia Treatment, November 6, 1998

In my past treatments for aplastic anemia, I’ve used: Lie Nü Xue Pu Shouyang Shan, San Dou Shen Sheng Chai Gu Yang; San Zi He Lian Da Gu Sang; Dangchuan Ji Danhong; Dangchuan San Zi Ji Danhong, Heishan Sishen Longma Yun; Yuan Shan Bai Jin Niu, among others. Theoretically, strengthening the spleen and tonifying the kidney complement each other; strengthening the spleen focuses on the extremities, suitable for children and acute cases, while tonifying the kidney focuses on the bone marrow, suitable for middle-aged and elderly people and chronic conditions. Recently, I reviewed notes from the 1980s and found a formula that included: Jinyinhua, Lianqiao, Pugongying, Baijiang Cao, Zihuadi Ding, Shan Zhi, named “Six Tigers”; Danpi, Danshen, Yimu Cao, Qian Cao, Mutong Cao, named “Dan Dan Cao”; Baishao, Nüzhenzi, Shengdihuang, Zelan, Xiangfu, named “White Female Lan Xiang.” The mnemonic for this formula is: “Six Tigers, Dan Dan Cao, White Female Lan Xiang.” This formula is effective for treating aplastic anemia and also for primary immune thrombocytopenic purpura.
