Preparation of Tuberculosis Pills, December 1, 1998
Tuberculosis almost disappeared after the founding of the People’s Republic of China, but in recent years it has resurfaced, with increasing numbers of outpatient cases. In the 1960s, I cured many tuberculosis patients using Xiong Huang Wu Chong Wan, and recently, trials with several cases have also shown obvious effectiveness. In the 1990s, Kang from Wushan County’s broadcasting station suffered from a tuberculous cavity and showed remarkable improvement after taking this medicine; later, Li, a farmer from Yuzhong County, developed a huge cold abscess due to thoracic tuberculosis, which kept oozing pus after rupture, with white bone visible through the sinus tract. After taking this medicine, the abscess healed; subsequently, a farmer in Wushan who had a long-standing tuberculous cavity also saw the cavity close after using this formula. This formula originated from my father’s experience, and I modified it based on my own experience, renaming it “Tuberculosis Pills.”
The composition of this formula is: Jiangcan 60 g, Quanxie 60 g, Wugong 60 g, Dongchong Xiacaocao 100 g, one pair of Gejie, Shougong 60 g, and Xiong Huang 70 g (to be decocted separately). All ingredients except Xiong Huang are ground into powder, while Xiong Huang is placed in a large radish, tightly sealed, and boiled until cooked. The Xiong Huang is then dried in the shade and mixed with the other ingredients, packed into 0.25 g capsules, two capsules per dose, three times daily.
