Treatment Experience for Darkened Facial Complexion in Patients with Liver Cirrhosis 1999.4.5

In the advanced stages of liver cirrhosis, due to the deterioration of liver function, the body’s tissues and cells are unable to obtain sufficient nutrients, particularly affecting the pituitary-adrenal cortical system. Because of insufficient adrenal cortical function, patients begin to develop a dark, sallow complexion. Previously, my late father successfully treated Addison’s disease using Epimedium, Horny Goat Weed, Morinda citrifolia, Anemarrhena asphodeloides, Phellodendron amurense, and Angelica sinensis, with Yuèbì Tang added for edema.
