Several Issues in the Application of Growth Hormone-Releasing Hormone (GRH)—January 6, 2000

Recombinant human growth hormone-releasing hormone does have certain therapeutic effects on children with congenital GH deficiency, but according to Hintg’s research, nearly half of the children have shown no significant improvement in recent years. Professor Ni Guizhen from Beijing Children’s Hospital believes that excessive GH can inhibit the body’s uptake of glucose, leading to hyperglycemia, and therefore does not recommend using GRH to treat healthy children who are short in stature.
