Acute Renal Failure 2000.8.4

Unlike chronic renal failure, in this case urea nitrogen and serum creatinine rise within 2–3 days, and the patient has no history of chronic renal failure or ischemic kidney disease (renal artery sclerosis). The most common causes of this condition are: ① infection; ② poisoning; ③ allergy. The best treatment is conservative internal medicine, including supportive care, fluid replacement, diuresis, anti-infection, and traditional Chinese medicine; dialysis is not necessary. Pathologically, this condition often involves interstitial nephritis and renal tubular necrosis. Over the past year, I have encountered two such cases: one is Mr. Wen, and the other is inpatient Mr. Wang.
