Proper Management of High-Dose Chemotherapy February 21, 2001
For tumors that are relatively sensitive to medication, such as malignant lymphoma, testicular tumors, breast cancer, and small-cell lung cancer, higher doses generally lead to better therapeutic effects. However, once a certain dosage threshold is reached, the body’s tolerance limit is maximized, and further increases in dosage no longer result in proportional improvements in efficacy. For chemotherapeutic agents that are not particularly effective against certain tumor cells, there is no positive correlation between drug dosage and anticancer efficacy.
