Guillain-Barré Syndrome February 26, 2001
This disease is also known as acute infectious polyneuropathy (GBS). Clinical manifestations include: ① Motor dysfunction in the limbs; ② Sensory disturbances in the limbs, presenting as glove-like or sock-like numbness; ③ Nerve nucleus involvement; ④ Diaphragm and lumbar muscle paralysis; ⑤ Autonomic nervous system dysfunction. Cerebrospinal fluid analysis reveals elevated protein levels with few cells. IgA, IgM, and IgG levels are increased, with IgM showing the most significant rise. The most common treatments for this condition are hormones and cyclophosphamide, though traditional Chinese medicine can also be used for treatment.
