I. Potassium Supplement Formula

Potassium chloride (g) = (5 – serum potassium concentration in mmol/L) × body weight (kg) × 0.0149. Using the above formula, for a 50 kg patient with a serum potassium level of 3 mmol/L, the required potassium supplementation would be 1.5 g, with 15 ml of 10% KCl (one and a half vials).
