A concentrated extract of herbs is mixed with appropriate excipients (starch, powdered sugar) to form granular powder formulations. This is a new formulation developed in recent years. It is often packaged in plastic to prevent moisture absorption. Infusions are quicker in action than pills or tablets, easier to carry than decoctions or syrups, and simple to take—just add hot water to dissolve the powder. Examples include Cold Medicine Infusion and Cough Medicine Infusion.
