3.1 Observation of General Condition and Tumor Growth in Tumor-Bearing Mice
General observation shows that the blank group mice eat and drink well, gain weight, have shiny fur, and show no signs of diarrhea or emaciation; the model control group mice start showing reduced food and water intake from the 4th day, with noticeable weight loss, sluggish activity, huddling, lethargy, poor spirits, dull fur, and no diarrhea; the PRGXP small- and large-dose groups have relatively good eating and drinking habits, slight weight gain, reduced activity, dull fur, and no diarrhea; the PRGXP medium-dose group has relatively normal eating and drinking, obvious weight gain, good activity, shiny fur, and no diarrhea; the BM group shows slightly reduced food and water intake, slight weight gain, reduced activity, huddling, and dull fur. The tumor at the subcutaneous inoculation site on the right anterior axilla of the model control group grows rapidly, with an uneven surface and unclear boundaries, while the tumors in all treatment groups grow more slowly in comparison. No mice died during the experiment. It can be seen that the blank control group mice are in good condition, the model control group mice are in poor condition, and the PRGXP small-, medium-, and large-dose groups as well as the BM group are in better condition than the model control group.
